Saturday, June 30, 1832 Last night was another of those nights when the heat of the day did not cool after the setting sun. It was too hot to sleep, yet I was too tired to just lay awake. I dozed off and on until the wee hours of the morning. I don’t know if I was dreaming a familiar dream or if he was actually there, but I felt, rather than saw David standing at the foot of my bed.
